Little Garden Day Nurseries (“LGDN”) is a leading group of children’s nurseries located in London and the South East and focused on providing high quality childcare and education. Under August Equity ownership, the business has expanded rapidly through acquiring 4 businesses taking the group to ten sites within six months.
August Equity acquired LGDN, comprising four sites, in June last year. During 2020 the group has made four additional acquisitions, Prima Montessori in Gillingham, Bizzy Bees in London, Acorn Montessori in Harrow and three Headstart nurseries in Potters Bar, Enfield and Barnet, taking the group to ten sites overall. As part of this growth strategy, August Equity has invested significantly in the core team led by Executive Chairman, Andy Morris. Andy is ex- Chief Executive of Asquith Nurseries, which he grew to over 90 locations before selling to Bright Horizons.
The vision is to create a quality-led nursery group of scale with 80 – 100 sites serving the South East and London. As part of this, August Equity has invested £1m to date in IT systems, high-quality facilities, staff and head office. The focus and ethos of the business is on offering excellent customer service, with the group looking to work with likeminded vendors in the market, who share the same passion for quality.
