Promotions alongside new hires caps off a strong year for August Equity

Katie Beckingham has been promoted to Manager whilst Greg Walsh, Mark Stevens and Michael Coates join the investment and portfolio teams in a financial year that has seen August Equity complete two platform investments, one exit and 28 bolt-on acquisitions.

Katie joined August Equity in October 2018 having previously worked for Barclays in their UK M&A team. Over the last two and a half years, Katie has been involved in a number of platform investments and portfolio success across the healthcare, technology and business services sectors.

Shortly after joining August, Katie was part of the team that completed Hallmarq Veterinary Services, now a global leader in the veterinary imaging space. She was also part of the deal team that completed Family First nurseries, Agilio and Business Systems. She has held Board Observer roles at both Hallmarq and Agilio, completing two bolt-on acquisitions with the latter.

Greg Walsh joins August Equity’s Investment team as Manager, he was previously part of the Corporate Finance team at PwC, where he completed a range of mid-market transactions across multiple sectors. Whilst at PwC, Greg undertook a secondment to their investment banking division in New York. He is a CFA charterholder.

Mark Stevens and Michael Coates join August Equity’s Portfolio team, headed by Mike Biddulph, focusing on August’s existing portfolio investments. Mark joins as Manager, having previously held roles at Endless and KPMG, where he qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. Mark has been involved in wide variety of transactions including Latvia’s premier chocolate brand, pan-European automotive manufacturing and newspaper distribution across the UK.

Michael joins the Portfolio Team as an Executive. Michael previously spent four years at Grant Thornton during which he qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. Throughout his time at Grant Thornton, Michael worked across a number of their M&A teams, gaining exposure to a range of diverse transactions across a variety of sectors.
